Iran Qajar king selfie to go on display at Golestan Palace

First selfie captured by Iran former Qajar King s set to go on display at Golestan Palace in the Iranian capital.

First selfie taken by Iran former King Naser al-Din Shah in Qajar era is set to go on show at Golestan Palace in the Iranian capital.

According to a domestic media report quoting Golestan Palace director on Sunday as saying that the selfie will be made available to the public to view at the House of Photos located in the Iranian historic building.

He added that 9 copies of valuable manuscripts will be put on display for the first time as well.

A collection of precious silk and wool rugs will be among the items for public view. 

The Golestan Palace, meaning the palace of flowers in Persian, is a masterpiece of the Qajar era (1794-1924) located in Iran's capital city, Tehran.

One of the oldest historic monuments in Tehran and registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the palace belongs to a group of royal buildings that were once enclosed within the mud-thatched walls of a citadel in Tehran. It consists of gardens, royal buildings, and collections of Iranian crafts and European presents from the 18th and 19th centuries.
